Dave Ramsey

How it started
I have an unusual way of looking at the world. My wife, Sharon, says I'm weird, and, truthfully, I am weird. But there's a reason. Starting from nothing, by the time I was 26 I had a net worth of a little over a million dollars. I was making $250,000 a year. That's more than $20,000 a month net taxable income. I was really having fun. But 98% truth is a lie. That 2% can cause big problems, especially with $4 million in real estate. I had a lot of debt—a lot of short-term debt—and I'm the idiot who signed up for the trip.

The short version of the story is that debt caused us, over the course of two and a half years of fighting it, to lose everything. We didn't tell anyone what was going on, but if we had to do it again, we would learn from the wisdom of others who have been through it. We soon learned that we were not the only ones at the bottom. Barbie and Ken (you know, the couple who appear to be perfect—perfect clothes, perfect car, perfect house) are broke, and I don't take financial advice from broke people anymore.

On the way up
After losing everything, I went on a quest to find out how money really works, how I could take control of it, and how I could have confidence in handling it. I read everything I could get my hands on. I interviewed older rich people—people who made money and kept it. That quest led me to a really, really uncomfortable place: my mirror. I came to realize that my money problems, worries and shortages largely began and ended with the person in my mirror. I also realized that if I could learn to manage the character I shaved with every morning, I would win with money. I went back to my first love, real estate, to eat and to get out of debt. Along the way, I began another path—the path of helping others, literally millions of others, take the same quest to the mirror.

Starting Ramsey Solutions
I formed Ramsey Solutions in 1992 to counsel folks hurting from the results of financial stress. I’ve paid the “stupid tax” (mistakes with dollar signs on the end) so hopefully some of you won't have to. I wrote the book Financial Peace based on all that Sharon and I had learned, and I began selling it out of my car. With a friend of mine, I started a local radio call-in show called The Money Game, now nationally syndicated as The Dave Ramsey Show.

Our company history is full of landmarks, including six best-sellers on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly lists—and we're not slowing down. Ramsey Solutions now has more than 550 team members and a variety of products and services to help you reach your financial goals.

Many companies define success based on the dollars coming in, but at Ramsey Solutions, we define our success by the number of lives changed: listeners getting out of debt, readers taking their first Baby Step and saving $1,000, Financial Peace University graduates investing for their future. We learned early on that if we help enough people, the money will come. Our mission statement isn't just lip service—it's our mantra:

Ramsey Solutions provides biblically based, common-sense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly heads arguably the best known, most written about, and most discussed cable news program around. "The O'Reilly Factor" on the Fox News Channel is certainly the most watched; it has been #1 in the ratings for more than 280 weeks, and is also seen in more than 30 countries.
During its 11 years on the air, "The O'Reilly Factor" has developed a unique blend of news analysis and investigative reporting, and the No Spin Zone is sought out and appreciated by millions of people every weeknight.

More than five years ago, "The Radio Factor" also took to the air. For two hours each weekday, involved folks, listening now on more than 400 stations, call in to participate in timely debates, and the show has become one of the most successful radio franchises in the nation.

Bill O'Reilly writes, too. All four of O'Reilly's non-fiction books have perched atop The New York Times bestseller list; O'Reilly Factor for Kids was top selling children's non-fiction book in 2005 and Culture Warrior, in paperback placed in the Times' top ten list it's first week of release. Bill's most recent book is Kids Are Americans Too, a thoughtful, plain talking examination and discussion of youngster's rights and responsibilities under the Constitution.

In addition to his books, O'Reilly's syndicated column appears in more than 300 newspapers across the nation. Every week the column is made available in advance of publication at BillOReilly.com, and through the website's newsletter.

O'Reilly started his on-air career in Scranton, Pennsylvania and then moved on to local reporting and anchoring stints in other cities including Dallas, Boston and New York. He took on network reporting responsibilities with CBS and ABC News and then was named host of the first version of the nationally syndicated "Inside Edition." He arrived at Fox News in 1996. Along the way, he's won many journalism awards, including 2 Emmys.

Bill O'Reilly was born in Manhattan, and raised on Long Island. His Bachelor's Degree is in History from Marist College, and he has a Master's in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University and another Master's Degree in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

In his spare time, Bill O'Reilly used to say he "took naps." That was back when he had any spare time.

Sebastian Gorka

Dr. Sebastian Gorka’s ascent could not have been more unusual, or more of a true “American Story.” To find out how it began, you have to go back to the 1950s, to Communist controlled Hungary.

Hoping for freedom after the utter devastation of the Second War, the proud nation of Hungary was instead taken over by a Stalinist dictatorship subordinate to Moscow. One young man, who had suffered under the Nazis, decided to resist and so Paul Gorka created a secret Christian student organization to subvert the Communist stranglehold of his homeland. Paul was eventually betrayed by the British double-agent Kim Philby, arrested by the Secret Police, tortured and then given a life sentence for fighting for democracy and liberty.

After two years in solitary confinement, two years down a prison coal mine, and two years in the central political prison in Budapest, Paul was eventually liberated by the brave freedom fighters of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. With the 17-year old daughter of a fellow political prisoner, Paul escaped across the minefields along the border of Western Hungary to a life of liberty in the UK, where Paul and Susan would be married and their son, Sebastian, was born.

With parents who had lived as children under fascism and then escaped Communist Hungary, Sebastian was raised to love freedom. And his love of talk-radio developed early. As a child he would listen late into the night to the shows of the London Broadcasting Company with a small transistor radio under his pillow. It was with this special family background, and growing up under the influence of the Conservative warrior Margaret Thatcher, that Sebastian learned how to fight totalitarian ideologies, be they Fascism, Communism, or Global Jihadism.

He would end up serving in the British Army reserve in a Military Intelligence unit, then after the fall of the Berlin Wall, in the first freely-elected Conservative administration in Hungary. The after the 9/11 attacks he became a professor on a Pentagon-funded counterterrorism program run out of Germany.

In 2008 he moved to America with his family where he continued to work for the Defense Department and become a proud American citizen in 2012. He obtained his doctorate in Political Science from Corvinus University in Budapest and was a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. In Washington, he served as Associate Dean for Congressional Affairs and Relations to the Special Operations Community at National Defense University and has also taught on the Masters program at Georgetown University.

Dr. Gorka has briefed the CIA, the DIA, the US Navy Seals, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, served as an expert for the DoJ during the Boston Bombing trial, and testified before Congress on the threat of Global Jihadism. He remains a guest instructor at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, at Fort Bragg, the home of the Green Berets.

Gorka writes for The Hill and has written two books for Regnery Publishing. His first Defeating Jihad, was a national best-seller and his latest, released in October, is called Why We Fight…Defeating America’s Enemies with No Apologies. Before launching his new SALEM show, “AMERICA FIRST with Sebastian Gorka,” he was an advisor to candidate Donald J. Trump and served on the staff of the White House in 2017 as Deputy Assistant to the President for Strategy.

Darren Streblow

Daren Streblow’s unique style of observational stand-up comedy has been entertaining hundreds-of-thousands of people throughout the United States and around the world since he first stepped on the stage in 1995. Daren headlines churches, fundraisers, corporate functions, and colleges all over North America. He’s a “humor opportunist” who is always looking for the comical side of life and how people live it. He takes topics that everyone can relate to and filters them through his unique lens where connecting A to B leads to a letter in the Greek alphabet or maybe salad dressing.

With an offbeat style that has earned him the title “The King of Uncool,” Daren’s demeanor carries an audience along at an easy pace, and often take people by surprise with the intensity of their own laughter. He works hard to craft his humor in well-oiled routines that works magic with the audience and creates a solid connection with them, often catering to their specific age, profession, or background. Added to his love for stories, comical facial-expression, and wild antics, you have a presentation that is both sophisticated and wacky, whimsical and thoughtful, and just plain fun to behold.

Born in Ely, Minnesota, Daren grew up with a robust imagination. He loved superheroes, which often got him into trouble. He would pin a large “S” on his chest, wrap a dish-towel around his neck, and jump into moving traffic to stop the villainous drivers. Fortunately for him, it always worked. He also found amusement in shooting arrows at neighbor’s houses and occasionally lighting campfires in their basements. He confesses that his mother “wasn’t at her emotional best during those years.”

Daren is often asked if he was the class clown in school. “Not really” he says. “I had a sense of humor, but it was pretty raw and unrefined. So when I cracked jokes in class most of my classmates thought I was being serious and wrote me off as a space alien.” Daren’s humor did occasionally cause his teachers to laugh out loud. “But making the teacher laugh didn’t score a lot of points with my peers.”

Daren’s mother saw that he needed a creative outlet and encouraged him to take a part-time job at KDNW radio in Duluth, Minnesota. “I was 16 and had this super-deep voice that made listeners think I was 40. So they thought it was weird when I was telling them little stories about something funny that happened in algebra class.”

He earned a degree in communications from University of Minnesota, Duluth. At the time, Daren believed he was pursuing a lifelong career in radio, but a strange event changed his direction. Out of the blue, a still small voice told him to be a comedian. Weird. However, Daren says he will tell you all the details if you ask him and he insists there were no drugs involved.

Early in his comedy career, Daren met comedian Brad Stine who became an instrumental influence on the young performer’s development. Brad encouraged Daren to get involved in open-mic nights at comedy clubs. For 4 years Daren drove 2 1/2 hours to Acme Comedy Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, performed a 3 to 7 minute set, and drove back home. He says those years were his comedy education and if you can learn to make people laugh with clean comedy in an open-mic environment, it will work anywhere.

Daren Streblow enjoys the challenge and creativity that comes with being a clean comedian. He performs around the United States and around the world in clubs, colleges, corporations, and even churches with a hysterical act that is getting rave reviews from people of all walks of life.

That starts real early around here! From crappie and bass in the native lakes around home to sailfish in the Atlantic, gulf species, and Pacific spear fishing, “it’s all a fish and a hook and a bait and the Good Lord’s gifts that make each adventure so special.”

Deer, quail, and turkey were all major influences in Big Billy’s youth. They still are! “Hunting Texas quail is still my favorite!” As a youngster, he would listen for a whistle and walk them up, but for the past twenty years he’s been behind some of the best bird dogs in the country! “Since my first trip behind well bred and trained dogs, that has been my passion!” Big Billy has grown his love of these dogs into champion field trialers and tremendous upland bird hunters. He has hauled his dogs to championship field trials and tremendous hunts from coast to coast and border to border. His champion Brittany, Bear won the 2010 National Shoot to Retrieve Regional Championship.

Radio is where most Texans know Big Billy. It has been his entire career, and for twenty years he was the afternoon drive voice of 96.3 KSCS. The Country Music Association (CMA) said that Big Billy was one of the top five country music jocks in the nation due to his on air performance, community involvement, and top ratings year after year. After a stellar country radio career, Big Billy combined his love for the outdoors with his history and success in radio. In the summer of 2009, Billy and his wife, Robin started Kinder Productions, Inc. which now produces the number one rated radio outdoor talk show in the Dallas/Fort Worth Market, Big Billy Kinder Outdoors. The power-house radio station WBAP 820AM & 96.7FM quickly saw the potential for an outdoors show with a camp-house friendly, lifestyles format.

Big Billy Kinder Outdoors premiered on December 12, 2009 and took the station from twenty-ninth in the market to number one in the market, Saturdays-5:00am to 6:00am in just a few brief months. Within a few years the show’s reach grew dramatically; BBKO Radio now airs on fifteen different radio stations across North Texas and nationally on over 135 radio stations, 29 states distributed by the Salem Radio Network. On June 1, 2019, Big Billy Kinder Outdoors was honored to launch on SiriusXM Satellite Radio-Channel 131, Family Talk presented by DSC. Now, BBKO can be heard in EVERY city and farm road, smartphone, tablet, boat and blind in the U.S. and Canada. Listeners can enjoy a radio show customized to their hunting and fishing passions as they are up early on the weekends heading out to the woods and waters. Big Billy has hosted such greats as Jim Zumbo, Craig Boddington, Walt Garrison, Johnny Rutherford, Governor Bill Clements, T.Boone Pickens, Jim Shockey, Michael Waddell, Jase Robertson and General Chuck Yeager…all great men in their field and great men of the outdoors.

Also, a Freshman All-American for TCU football; Big Billy loves sports. He is devoted to his wife, son and granddaughters. Billy loves this community and was recognized by the State of Texas for his “Kinder Kids” radio program, which for 19 years, reached the community looking for families to foster and adopt children who suffered abuse and neglect across the surrounding nineteen counties. You will be hard-pressed to find someone who loves the men and women in our military and first-responders more than Big Billy.

No matter how great the hunting, fishing, and outdoor excitement has been-no matter how wonderful the people in my life, “nothing can come close to replacing my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” Christ was the only perfect example of a man. He was very God, made man-amazing, and so is His eternal grace. I look at His life and then take a close look at my heart, and life, and see how short of heaven I fall. I thank God for his simple plan of salvation, and for accepting a simple man like me!!
